March 10:  25th Annual Solvang Century

The Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team was proud to be a part of the 25th annual Solvang Century. The ride is a fundraiser for Specialized Coronary Outpatient Rehabilitation (SCOR), a recreational bike club that promotes cycling as a method of rehabilitative therapy for heart-related conditions. This was the first of several charity events Toyota-United will participate in this year.

Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team Owner Sean Tucker joined riders Sean Sullivan and Ivan Dominguez on the ride.   Sullivan, Dominguez and Tucker were among an estimated 5,000 cyclists who took part in either the century or half-century rides.

Sullivan gives a wave to the camera. The Toyota-United trio completed the 100 miles in about six hours.
Tucker, a former professional racer himself, showed he still has the legs to hang with the bunch.

The 5,000 feet of climbing wasn?t enough to keep the smiles off the faces of Tucker (left) Sullivan and Dominguez.  After the ride, Sullivan and Dominguez signed autographs, including a medallion for this fan riding for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society.

One excited fan even had Ivan Dominguez sign his jersey.  Just another part of the job: Sullivan and Dominguez answered questions and met fans to help build the next generation of young cyclists.
