March 22:  23rd Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic

The Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team placed four riders in the top 15 Thursday afternoon in The Sun prologue time trial at the 23rd Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic.

The four ? Justin England, Ivan Stevic, Chris Baldwin and Sean Sullivan ? finished within four seconds of each other. England was the best-placed in fifth, 16 seconds off the winning time of Svein Tuft (Symmetrics Cycling Team). Tuft covered the 3.1-mile (5 km) course in nine minutes and 29 seconds.

Stevic finished 10th, 17 seconds behind, Chris Baldwin was 12th (19 seconds behind) and Sean Sullivan placed 14th, 20 seconds behind.

Justin England was the first Toyota-United rider down the start ramp. His time of 9:45 held up as the team?s fastest of the day.  Ivan Stevic attacked the mostly uphill course and the result earned him a top 10 finish.

The more-than 600 feet of climbing over the 3.1-mile (5 km) course didn?t exactly suit Henk Vogels, who finished 127th.
Chris Wherry, who won this race overall in 2005, finished 26th, 36 seconds behind.

Burke Swindlehurst rode a solid prologue to finish in the top 50. His time of 10:13 was the 38th fastest on the day, 44 seconds off the lead  Sean Sullivan gritted it out up the final climb to finish only 20 seconds off the winning time.

Ivan Dominguez looked fast, but rode to conserve energy for Friday?s challenging road race.  Chris Baldwin was last Toyota-United rider to start. He finished 12th, 19 seconds off the lead.
